Nutrition and Menu
How Important is Nutrition for those in Childcare?
Nutrition and Menu for daycare students of Tiny Scholars.
A study has shown that “Most of us think of vegetables as part of a main meal whether they are mixed in with a stir fry or on the plate next to the meat”. Sadly, children also soon learn to think of vegetables in the same way. For children to not only get enough vegetables, but also learn to appreciate and enjoy them, they need to experience eating vegetables many times a day. At Tiny Scholars Childcare & Preschool we promote to eat the vegetables they grow in their own garden (of course, after appropriate cleaning tests are achieved).
We are extremely passionate about children’s nutrition. Children have their own unique nutrient needs and meeting those needs is vital for a child to grow up big, strong and healthy.
This is why at Tiny Scholars Childcare & Preschool, your child will be provided with all their daily meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. These meals are certified by nutritionists and prepared by professional chefs ensuring that your child receives a variety of wholesome, healthy, nutritional meals from the 5 food groups. All our meals are delicious and cater for allergies, cultural and religious needs e.g. we provide halal meals.
Our menu is rotated weekly and changes every 6 weeks. The menu is reviewed and amended on a yearly basis. As our menus are always on display throughout the centre, you can view what delicious and nutritious meals your child has enjoyed.
Healthy snacks are provided and water is readily available to children and families throughout the day.
